Tayside Park Paths - Mission Accomplished!
BRANSTON HELPS LOCAL PARK ON PATH TO RECOVERY
Branston’s Abernethy site donated £2,000 to Newburgh Community Trust to put towards resurfacing and repairing the paths and walkways of a much loved park in Fife. The potato supplier, which has three sites across the UK, regularly donates to local causes and chose this charity when it learnt how close the trust was to its project fundraising target.
Andrew Arbuckle chair of the Newburgh Community Trust said: “The donation from Branston has meant a lot to us as it helped us reach our £30,000 target and enabled us to finally start work on the pathways at Tayside Park.
“Tayside Park is a beautiful site and popular with all ages, but the pathways were eroded following heavy rain a number of years ago. Resurfacing the pathways will make it more accessible to families and the elderly and we cannot wait to reveal the improved paths. This will make a big difference to a lot of people in the local area.”
General manager of Branston’s Scotland site Kevin Imrie said: “The Newburgh Community Trust is a great charity that helps improve facilities for the community and touches the lives of so many people in the area. Many of our team members live in Newburgh so this initiative is very close to our hearts.
“We’re thrilled that our donation has meant that the Trust can begin works at the park and that the improved facilities will benefit generations to come. Giving back to the community is very important to us at Branston, which is why we regularly support local and national charities through our CSR fund and charity fundraising events.”
Branston is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of potatoes - for leading UK retailers and wholesalers - as well as providing seed for potato growers.
